About
Photography is one of my favorite hobbies. I probably took my first picture back in 1968 or so which was obviously in the film days. I dabbled in B&W, Kodachrome and Velvita. My first SLR was the Nikon FE. We actually still have this camera today and it still works fine after all these years. In some ways, being an amateur is more enjoyable than being a professional with all the pressure it brings.
It also allowed me to concentrate on a 35 year career in medical diagnostics and biopharmaceuticals and to help raise a family. Now that I am retired I can spend more time enjoying this craft. My wife and I enjoy traveling and the great outdoors. She runs around taking pictures with her iPhone (example above) and often finds compositions that are much better than mine. She also makes fun of me while I lug around a camera bag full of DSLR stuff. We have a map of all the National Parks in the USA. It is our mission to put a sticker in every box.
